Favorites
The Favorites palette keeps the chains, effects and media you reach for during a set in fixed positions, so you can find them by muscle memory. It sits directly above the chain slots, with three panes side by side: the Banks rail, the palette grid, and a library to build banks from.
Click the star button in the SNAPS bar on the left of the editor to show or hide it.
Banks and the palette
Section titled “Banks and the palette”The palette has 8 banks of 24 cells each (8 × 3). Pick a bank in the Banks rail. Each bank shows how many items it holds and a coloured dot for each kind of content in it.
Banks are named, so you can organise them by section, venue or set list. Double-click a bank, or right-click → Rename Bank, to rename it.
Cells never move on their own. Adding, removing or renaming something never shuffles the rest, so an item stays where you put it. Drag a cell onto another to swap them.
Each cell shows a thumbnail and a type badge, so you can tell a chain from an effect at a glance.
Adding favorites
Section titled “Adding favorites”- Chains — right-click a chain slot → Add to Favorites, or drag a chain slot into a palette cell.
- Effects — drag an effect into a palette cell.
- Media — drag a video, image or GIF file into a palette cell.
- From the library — drag any tile from the library pane into a cell.
Previewing and committing
Section titled “Previewing and committing”Click a cell to preview it, and click it again to stop. The preview plays in a panel under the main output, so you can check it without the audience seeing it. Nothing is added to the track until you commit. A status line in the palette says what is previewing and where it came from. Only one thing previews at a time, whether it came from the palette or the library.
Double-click a cell to commit it. Committing is a double-click on purpose, so a stray click mid-set never loads a chain.
You can also drag a favorite straight onto the track inspector to add it to that track, or onto the Add Track button to start a new track with it.
Destination
Section titled “Destination”The Destination: control in the palette header decides where a double-click lands:
| Destination | What happens |
|---|---|
| Auto | Chains open a new chain, effects join the current one |
| Current chain | Everything lands in the chain you’re looking at |
| New chain | Everything opens its own chain on this track |
| New track | Everything starts a track of its own |
While you hover a cell, the header spells out exactly what committing it would do — for example Add to Chain 2 or New chain on Layer 1. Your choice is remembered between launches.
Cells that don’t fit the selected track’s type are dimmed and can’t be committed there. Switch the destination to New track to use them anyway.
Select a cell and press Delete to remove it, or right-click → Remove from Favorites. Right-clicking a media cell also offers Reveal in Finder.
The library
Section titled “The library”The pane beside the palette holds material to build banks from. Everything in it can be previewed with a click and dragged into a palette cell; double-click a tile to commit it.
